Rimmel London Orange Sunset

Hi friends! It's almost Christmas (and for my Jewish followers, Hannukah is already happening!) I wish I could be one of those people talking about how excited they are to have five days off of work, but the only day I have off is Christmas Day, and that's only because I complained and complained and complained until my manager agreed not to schedule me on Christmas! This is the first year that I've had a problem with my work schedule, I guess now that I'm married and have been out of school for a while I'm starting to realize that Starbucks is not the job to be able to make lots of money and get a good savings going, and also I'm starting to want that Monday to Friday kind of schedule. I envy people who have weekends and more than one day off in a row, and hour long lunch breaks, and whose offices are closed for multiple days during Christmas week!! *jealous* Anyways....little girl not wanting to grow up rant is over, on to the good stuff!

Here I have a lovely mani from a couple weeks ago - I wore it on a date me and my husband went on - we went and got Italian food and it was delicious! Well, I was upset because as you can see I got an awkward break on my ring finger and also had to cut down my middle finger nail - the middle finger is almost at a "normal" length for me now and the ring finger has just about recovered too!

It's Rimmel London Orange Sunset! This nice coral shade was hard to capture, so I took a lot of pictures!

I'm standing in my bathroom here under a fairly warm, yellowy light. As you can see it looks pretty orange here.

But with flash, you can see how it really looks in real life, a gorgeous pinkish shade with a hint of orange!

It was nice and glossy once dry.

But of course it needed some sparkle! I had seen someone do a similar mani to this - sponging the glitter onto the tips, maybe Let Them Have Polish? I don't remember...at any rate I felt inspired and I thought the gold would look great with the warm coral, so I dabbed some onto the tips in a little layering! It's Milani Jewel FX in gold!

I thought it was just the right amount of glam for our date night! Hope you guys like it!

Ulta Haul/My First Butter London!

Hey all! In spite of the cold I am currently fighting [edit: well, I was on Tuesday when I wrote this!], I went out of the house today to get some fresh air...but mainly to go to Ulta so I could take advantage of their Butter London Buy one get one free sale! I was hoping to find Henley Regatta but someone beat me to it. I went less than two hours after they opened, and I can't imagine they got cleaned out that bad in two hours...it looked to me like they just hadn't stocked in a while. Oh well. I picked up West End Wonderland and No More Waity Katie

And, as you can see, I also grabbed two Pinata-yada-yada's, plus Celebutante - since the Ulta polishes were on sale for $2! I grabbed the old bottle version of Celebutante since Ulta recently changed their price from $5 to $6 AND they made the bottle smaller. Jerks....I actually had bought a bottle of Pinata-yada-yada a couple weeks ago, but when I realized that not only had the price gone up, the bottle was smaller, I returned that ASAP! And that paid off, since a few days later I got their magazine ad in the mail that was advertising their colors for $2! Heck yeah! I love Pinata-yada-yada for frankens, so I picked up two! And I just thought Celebutante was the cutest purple! Very similar to my favorite purple ever, Zoya Mira!

I was hoping to also find Zoya Jana, and the China Glaze glow in the dark polish, but they didn't have either :(

Here is West End Wonderland, a gorgeous golden glitter packed into a clear base. It's so laden with glitter, though, that some people would probably be fine with one coat! I did two coats and then did a teeny touchup on a couple spots that wound up looking a little bare. This also dried relatively smooth, which surprised me, I expected it to be very gritty.

Look! Look at that shimmer!!! Yayyy I love glitters!

You may be able to see in the bottle (and slightly on the nail) that along with the gorgeous fine gold glitter, there are some tiny red glitters, as well! They aren't super noticeable on the nail but definitely add some depth to the polish! It's so deliciously sparkly...I can't wait to wear this around the holidays! This one was kind of a snap decision for me, since I wasn't sure what colors to get once I saw there was no Henley Regatta, but I am thrilled with my decision to pick West End Wonderland!

Celebutante + Milani!

Hi everyone! Here is one of my grabs from today from Ulta's $2 sale - it's Celebutante. I immediately knew this was a dupe for Zoya Mira/OPI Funky Dunkey, which happens to be my favorite purple ever, so I snatched it up! I picked the one from their older bottle design, rather than the new design, because it is marginally bigger than the new design bottle. They raised the prices recently, yet downsized the bottle from .4 oz to .33. I know it's not a huge jump but...if the price goes up, the product should NOT go down. It's the principle...grrr Ulta!

Anyways I used the end of my Funky Dunkey for a franken I made today, so I'm glad I bought Celebutante! It's very pretty and a great backup for my Mira :)

Oops! You can clearly see I didn't bother painting my thumb, haha! Oh well. It's a bit more warm purple than this photo, purples are so hard to get right! I put the blue envelope in the background to try and help it show up more purple than blue!

Two coats was great, though I had to be careful not to flood my cuticles, it was a tad runny, I guess would be the word. I'm just pleased to get away with two coats, so I didn't mind too much!

I then topped it off at the tips with my Milani Jewels in gold! I love love love this glitter! What do you guys think? Hope you like! I spent the afternoon with this on, and am about to go take it off since I have work tomorrow :( (I know, I'm sick, yet I still have to work. My coworkers....they are so nice, nobody would switch with me/cover my shift! At least one girl is coming in an hour early for me, she actually is nice!)

I tried to do a bit of a gradient with the glitter, I think it looks neat!

I like the color combo! If only I went to LSU or some other purple/yellow/gold school haha! :)

Hope you guys like!

Revlon Gold Coin

I had a big makeup haul at Walgreens yesterday - so excited!! For $25 I got a Covergirl blush and eyeliner, two Maybelline eye shadow quads, two Sinful Colors polishes, two Revlon polishes, a Sally Hansen polish, and a Wet n Wild polish! Yeah!! I had some coupons and they did some "register rewards" but anyways, I was happy haha!

Here is one of the Revlon polishes I got for $2.99, then got $3 in Register Rewards so it wound up being free! It's called Gold Coin and it's one of their metallic colors. A side note - the labels they use on their polishes are printed in a gold color so it was pretty much unreadable considering the nail color is gold....just a logistical thing but I notice these things since I can be detail oriented haha!

I used two coats here plus a Wet n Wild clear topcoat. For those of you who have Zoya Trixie, this is like her golden sister. Formula not quite as nice as Zoya but lovely color! If you happen to find this on sale I'd definitely recommend picking it up. Very pretty gold foil!

And of course I love sparkle so I thought, I have to see what this looks like with OPI Spark de Triomphe on top! I just did one extra coat, the sparkle is noticeable but mostly subtle. I'm sure in sunlight this would be lovely!

Purple & Gold

A few weeks ago, I picked up OPI's Planks a Lot, a gorgeous light purple creme color. It is such a pretty color! You may have figured out by now that purple is my favorite color, and I had been looking for a light purple for a while, since I don't have one in my stash. I bought my flower girl at my wedding Zoya Malia, and it was so cute, she wore it on her fingers and toes! Our wedding color was purple so it fit right in but was girly and cute for her too! OK anyways....I liked Zoya Malia but didn't want to order from online since it can be so expensive if you're just getting one polish. Soooo when I saw Planks a Lot I was like "WANT!"

I decided I needed a little something to jazz up my manicure (I now see why people like stamping, it seems like a nice way to jazz up a manicure and you can do as much or as little as you want. Maybe I'll get into it someday!) so I decided to do an accent finger of one of my other new acquisitions and loves, Spark de Triomphe! I had a brain fart and painted all my nails with Planks a Lot before I realized I could have left my ring finger bare and just done SDT over it, haha, so you can see a little purple underneath it. Oh well!

(Sorry, stupid iPhone pic again)

It was a nice girly mani! I liked it a lot :) What do you think?
